SERVICES OFFERED

I am thrilled that you are considering a holistic approach to your pet's care. Sadly, we inherit most of our patients when conventional medicine has failed at treating an issue that has become a chronic problem in a pet's life. The good news is that holistic medicine can help where sometimes conventional medicine fails, however, it is important to remember that it is usually not a quick fix and while sometimes the fees associated with holistic care can seem daunting, our goal is to be as thorough as possible and tackle your pet's health concerns with as many tools in our toolkit so that we can get to the root of your pet's symptoms and reverse them for good! Consider that a standard 20 minute consultation in the GTA is over $130+HST. Our appointments last 1-1.5 hours to ensure we obtain all the necessary information and provide all the different avenues in which we can help.

Sunnybrook Mobile Vet is a house call veterinary service with a special interest in holistic medicine as well as palliative and end of life care.

Our goal is to provide you as the pet guardian, with additional tools to help keep your pet healthy or adjunctive treatments options to deal with their current health issues. We strive to work alongside your family vet to provide a holistic approach to their health and optimize their health through food, herbs and supplements. Please note that we are not a primary care provider.

Our practice is focused on building health and healing disease through the use of:

  • Functional nutrition (whole food, species appropriate diets)

  • Supplements

  • Herbal medicine (Western)

  • Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

  • Acupuncture

  • Conventional medicine when necessary/appropriate

All of our consultations are performed from the comfort of your home! Our initial consultation is the most comprehensive and typically lasts about 1-1.5 hours so make sure you set out the appropriate time in your schedule as we have a lot to cover! A 1 hour consultation is billed at $350+HST, each additional 15 minute block is $45+HST.

Our initial consultation fees are broken down as follows:

1 hour holistic consultation and physical examination (includes review of patients records prior to the appointment)- $275+HST
House call/mobile fee - $75+HST

What to expect:

  • During the consultation Dr Paris will review your pet’s Western medical records with you so that you can get a better understanding of their current state of health (how did we get here?)

  • A detailed history will be taken from the pet guardian (both Western and Traditional Chinese)

  • A complete physical exam will be performed

  • A TCVM examination will be performed

  • Supplements and herbs will be discussed

  • A brief introduction and recommendation to TCVM food therapy will be made

  • Recommendations and a treatment plan will be provided

  • Email support with questions you may have (6 follow up emails are included)

All herbal medications/conventional medications and blood testing will be billed separately.

We are happy to send medical records back to your family veterinarian.

Please be sure to have a pen/paper/computer available to write down the information presented by the doctor. A copy of the records can be sent upon completion however they are usually written in shorthand medical script and will not be in extensive detail.

Future appointments are typically 30 to 45 minutes in duration and start at $205+HST for 30 minutes ($130+HST for the consultations and a house call/mobile fee of $75+HST). $45+HST will be charged for each additional block of up to 15 minutes. When appropriate, follow up consultations can be done via telemedicine.

Please note that a deposit of $100+HST is taken per patient at the time the appointment is booked and this is non-refundable. We accept credit/debit at the time of the appointment. Please ensure that your pets are present for their appointments as the full appointment fee will be billed even if your furry friend is hiding under the bed!

If you are interested in proceeding, please send us a copy of your pet's medical records (from your primary care provider and/or any specialist reports) and we will get you into the schedule!
